    Position

    1. Lifeguard Deep: Deep water lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safety of guests in and around the deep water (any water area, 5 ft or deeper) areas of the waterpark. In addition,

    Student will be required to:
    -Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
    -Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
    -Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
    -Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort
    -Work with fellow team members to provide guests with a fun and safe experience.
    -Monitoring the well-being of guests and responding to emergency situations both in and out of a waterpark area.
    -Enforcing established rules, complying with regulations, and maintaining professional practices.
    -Maintaining a constant alertness to what our hundreds of Guests are doing, preventing accidents and drowning in waterpark areas.
    -Throughout their shift, Lifeguards are also expected to play an important role in keeping the resort clean and comfortable.
    -All of these important responsibilities must be fulfilled while working outside in the elements – heat, humidity, rain, and wind. Long periods of standing are required.

    For purposes of recruitment, poolside swim tests of 100 meters should be completed. The test should be conducted within 5 minutes. Upon arrival at resort, certification for a 300 meter swim test will take place with no specified timeline for completion. If any participant has any doubt about being able to complete the 300 meter swim test, they should NOT select this position. Lifeguards must obtain Lifeguard Certification is through Red Cross upon arrival. Job Offer is
    contingent upon successful completion of certification class in the USA (see attached class information). Students who leave early and do not honor the contract end dates will have to have pay $45 for the certification reimbursement. This fee will be deducted from their final paycheck.

    2. Lifeguard Shallow:
    Shallow water lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safety of guests in and around the shallower water (any water area, 5 ft or under) areas of the waterpark. In addition,

    student will be required to:
    -Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
    -Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
    -Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
    -Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort
    -Work with fellow team members to provide guests with a fun and safe experience.
    -Monitoring the well-being of guests and responding to emergency situations both in and out of a waterpark area.

    3. Waterpark Attendant :
    This position requires exceptional communication skills. In this role, students will be positioned at the top of several different waterpark slides/rides (in and around any water area, 3ft or under) and will be responsible for greeting guests, providing exceptional service at the ride, ensuring the safety of the guests on the ride, and for communicating effectively with the lifeguards located at the bottom of the rides. Students must be aware of all safety rules and precautions of all
    waterpark rides and must make sure all guests who choose to use the waterpark slides are of the designated height for the ride, are wearing the correct footwear for the ride, are aware of the depth of the water below, etc. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of guests/associates in all slides, attractions, and interactive features in the indoor and outdoor waterpark areas. In addition,

    student will be required to:
    -Attend University of Kalahari Lifeguard Training to learn Customer Care skills
    -Interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner;
    -Provide exceptional guest service in order to enhance the guest experience in the water park.
    -Provide general assistance to guests, including answering questions about the resort
    -Monitoring the well-being of guests and responding to emergency situations both in and out of a waterpark area.
    -Enforcing established rules, complying with regulations, and maintaining professional practices.
    -Maintaining a constant alertness to what our hundreds of Guests are doing, preventing accidents and drowning in waterpark areas.
    -Throughout their shift, Lifeguards are also expected to play an important role in keeping the resort clean and comfortable.
    -All of these important responsibilities must be fulfilled while working outside in the elements – heat, humidity, rain, and wind. Long periods of standing are required.

    Participant is required to live at the housing facilities provided in this offer. Must be able to perform the following functions:
    -fully submerge underwater
    -tread water or float for 1 minute
    -swim 25 yards on back or front
    -swim (or walk) 20 yards and retrieve a 10lb brick from 3 ft of water.

    Housekeeping
    Housekeeping: Cleaning Vacant and stay over guest rooms daily. Associate is required to clean rooms in a specified amount of time, based on the size and floor plan of the room and uphold the company's standard of cleanliness. Performing cleaning procedures daily in guest rooms to include changing linens, dusting, scrubbing tub/shower, sinks and mirror, empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Vacuuming and spot cleaning carpeted floors, washing bathroom floors daily. Wiping vanity drawers, cleaning windows, vacuuming drapes, and performing other cleaning duties on a periodic scheduled basis. Restocking housekeeping carts daily with supplies, linen/terry and cleaning supplies as specified. Laundering linens and towels. Use of chemicals is required. Please note that Kalahari guest rooms accommodate families (2 – 22 guests staying in each room or condo for multiple days) and therefore the amount of cleaning needed may vary from room to room. Please reference housekeeping handbook for additional responsibilities.Ability to exert 50-100 lbs of force in order to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Ability to stand during entire shift (up to 8 hrs).

    Varies, may include weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. Late hours may be expected. 4-7 days per week and work 6-8 hours per day. At times, it may be necessary for a student's schedule to include overtime hours.

  • Salary :
    Housekeeping: $9.00 / Lifeguard Deep: $9.00 / Lifeguard Shallow: $8.65 / Waterpark Attendant : $8.50 per hour

    32 hours/week minimum except between 11/24 and 12/18, when hours are reduced to 16-20 hours/week

    Lifeguard :
    Uniforms will be purchased through the Resort and deducted from paycheck. Females may bring a solid-colored (one color only, no patterns) one-piece bathing suit to wear as a part of your lifeguard uniform or purchase from Kalahari. Males must purchase swim shorts from Kalahari for the uniform. Lifeguard uniform cost range from $50-75 USD. Uniforms will be purchased through Kalahari and deducted from paycheck. Students are responsible for providing their own footware (flip flops or other water sandal).

    Housekeeping :
    The other uniform items will be purchased through the Resort and deducted from paycheck and cost will vary from $70 - $100.
    -Black closed-toed shoes (cannot be a tennis shoe)
    -Black pants or slacks (cannot be leggings or tights)

  • Housing Deposit Required :
    Security Deposit - $200, $150 - refundable, $50 - non-refundable admin and cleaning fee.
