    Hospitality Crew means you’ll be working either on KITCHEN CREW. You must be willing to do work in any of the jobs as you will be crossed trained to do several positions. Your exact position and location will be decided depending on your abilities and your interests.

    KITCHEN CREW = Kitchen jobs could include DISHWASHING, CAFETERIA, DELI, FAST FOOD, EMPLOYEE DINING ROOM, FOOD RUNNER, CASHIERING or PANTRY. DISHWASHERS, SERVERS, BARTENDERS

    - DISHWASHERS will wash trays, pots and pans used in cooking and serving, unload the dishes from the bussers, scrape food into trash, and load them in a machine with scalding hot water. You will wash things by hand if they don’t fit into the machine. You will also help take out the garbage, mop and sweep the kitchen, and keep the entire kitchen clean – this is a team effort! You will clean coolers, kitchen tables, refrigerators and prep-stations. Dishwashers are almost always the last person to leave at night. The Dishwasher Position pays $9.00 per hour plus the $1.00 and hour end of season bonus.

    - FOOD RUNNERS work in all dining rooms and the cafeteria – bring fresh food (hot or cold) to the Cafeteria serving areas or Dining Rooms. This can be large pans of food or individual plates and bowls on a tray (sandwiches, salads, desserts).The Food Runner position pays $9.00 per hour plus the $1.00 per hour end of season bonus.

    - CASHIER - You’ll use a register to ring up orders, take people’s money, give them change and a receipt. You might also have to wrap or bag their purchase. At the end of a shift, you’ll have to count the money in your register and compare it with the sales data in the computer. Be careful with your money – although you probably won’t get in trouble for occasionally being a few cents short, you could be removed from your position if it happens too often. The Cashier position pays $9.00 per hour plus the $1.00 per hour end of season bonus.

    - PANTRY WORKER works in the Pantry, where you do a lot of the food preparation for dishes that are served. This includes chopping vegetables, making salads, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing food, storing food, keeping walk-in coolers clean and organized, and more. Pantry Workers report to the head chef or cook and may work earlier than most other cooks. The Pantry Worker positions pays $9.00 per hour plus the $1.00 per hour end of season bonus.

    - SERVER are responsible for greeting guests once they have been seated at their table, discussing menu items, taking food orders and serving food, occasionally visit table for any additional help and ensuring they receive outstanding guest service during their visit. Servers are also expected to help clean the table and set it up for the next guest. The Server positions pays $4.30 per hour plus tips and the $1.00 per hour end of season bonus.

    - BARTENDER - are responsible for greeting guests once they have been seated at the bar, discussing menu items, occasionally taking food orders and serving food, making drinks and filling drink orders for the servers in the dining room, ensuring guests receive outstanding guest service during their visit. Bartenders are also expected to help clean the bar area and keep the work station clean. The Bartender Position pays $4.30 per hour plus tips and the $.00 per hour end of season bonus.

    All positions may be required to help with BUSSING, where you help with cleaning tables; taking dirty plates, utensils and drink ware to the kitchen to be washed; and reset tables for the next service. You will be pushing and pulling a heavy cart while collecting dirty dishes.

    possible. It is possible to obtain a second job, but the Island is small and second jobs may be limited. Your employer feels you will get a large amount of hours and that you would not have a need for a second job. If you do obtain a second job it cannot interfere with your schedule with St. Hazards Resort. The schedule of your primary employer is your priority and your employer will not adjust your schedule to accommodate the schedule of another job.

    Housing is provided on site, in the same accommodations the guests stay in. Participants will live in either the Condos or Cabins. Some condos have kitchens, but some of the condos do not have a full kitchen and will be equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and hot plates.

    At least 2 to 4 participants will live in the cabins. Cabins are one bedroom cabins that are shared by two people. The cabins do not have their own bathrooms, but are next to the bath house. The cabins have microwaves, hot plates,a refrigerator plus an outdoor grill. There would be no more than 2 per cabin.
    The cabins are a great option for 2 friends traveling together or a couple who would like a bit more privacy.

    All utilities are included in the housing and all housing has internet.. All of them have Internet. Bedding is included. Where you will live will depend on availability when you arrive and guest reservations that have been made for the season. It may be possible to request to live in a Cabin or Condo, but cannot be guaranteed. Please be prepared that you may be assigned to a housing unit and will not have the option of both.
