Job description

Groundskeeping Team Member : This position will work at our campground maintaining the grounds. Must maintain outside grounds, including trash pickup and lawn and landscape maintenance, work with push lawnmower machinery, weed eaters, collecting and removing the trash, cutting tree branches, moving rocks and other landscaping supplies and repairing picnic tables. Additional duties assigned as needed. Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours a day and lift and push up to 50lbs/23kg; also involves bending to do work on the ground level. Very physically demanding. Requires attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. When the weather does not permit outside work you will work in the rides department to maintain your work hours. Must have a great team attitude, and be a dependable, hard-working, friendly, and very trustworthy and honest individual. Everyone works as a team. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist as needed like working as a ride operator. The position is for a minimum of 32 hrs per week (unless there is extreme weather causing the Park to close). During very busy weeks you will be required to work 40 hrs per week (approx. May 31 through August 22).
Park operates weekends only May 13 through May 31 and after August 22. Hours will be reduced during these dates. Additional hours may be available during the week working in
other positions or at the Inn. Most positions require little or no experience. All positions involve being on your feet and
remaining active while interacting with our guests. Positions are indoors, semi-outdoors, or completely outdoors. Most indoor positions are not air-conditioned. You must be able to

when visiting Adventureland Park. Must be physically fit. You will be working outside in the hot sun – many days are very humid in Altoona. Must stay hydrated while working.

Retail Team Member : Duties include working in one of many souvenir shops or kiosks in the park and waterpark.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to using point of sale computers, cash registers, credit card machines, stocking stores, cleaning, standing and walking during your entire shift
(on your feet for up to 8 or more hours during shift). Lifting may be required during store stocking or while working at our tube rental stores in our water park. Many of our stores and
kiosks are either located outside or are not climate controlled. You will be exposed to various weather conditions (high humidity and heat outside). Additional tasks as requested
by management. Employees should be prepared for a fast-paced, high volume, and highly active retail environment. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist as needed like
working a shift per week operating a park ride. The position is for a minimum of 32 hrs per week (unless there is extreme weather causing the Park to close). During very busy weeks

Rides Team Member : You will be working with guests and operating rides at the various amusement park rides. Must handle guest services and satisfaction with a positive attitude, understanding, and compassion in a friendly and helpful way. Must like dealing with people and be friendly and have an outgoing personality. Follow all safety policies, interact positively with the guests and other crew members. You will be standing the entire shift and requires moderate lifting
and mobility. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting guests during the loading and unloading process and ensuring guest safety by checking their seat belts or lap bars, etc. You will be working outside in the hot summer sun and be exposed to various weather conditions. Must have a great team attitude, and be a dependable, hard-working, friendly and very trustworthy and honest individual. Additional tasks as requested by management. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist as needed. The position is for a minimum of

Food Concession : 

You will be working at a food stand located inside the amusement park. Some of the locations are mobile (like an ice cream cart; others are in a permanent location). Duties include taking food orders from guests, filling orders, cashier (handling American currency and credit card transactions), and preparation of food items. Stocking food and inventory
and keeping the area organized and clean. May have to lift up to 50 lbs (23kg). You will work as a team to prepare the food, sell food items, and clean and close up the food area at the
end of your shift. This includes cleaning, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning the equipment (may include fryers, griddles, mixers or ovens), cleaning counters and work surfaces. It will include additional tasks as required by management. There are strict safety requirements you will need to follow regarding the use of personal protective equipment for chemical hazards, proper safety attire, and following all other company safety requirements. Must have a strong work ethic, great attitude, and like working with people. Must be hard-working, honest, friendly, and able to work outside in the sun. You must be able to work at a fast pace and stand for long periods of time. Primary shifts are 1 pm to 9:30 pm, unpaid 30-minute break included in your shift. Will work weekends and holidays. In this position, you will be preparing food items (wrapping hamburgers, making pizzas, preparing sub sandwiches and gyros, cooking french fries, chicken tenders, and onion rings, making funnel cakes, etc. You will be cooking and cleaning with grills, fryers, mixers, ovens, steam tables, etc.

Operations Team Member : This position would provide you with a wide range of duties in many different areas throughout the amusement park. Duties include cleaning pools in the waterpark (cleaning debris, wiping down walls, vacuuming the pools), helping in all departments (rides, games, retail, front gate, sanitation, and the bank) when they are short on employees, as well as other duties as assigned. A typical morning shift would include cleaning pools/waterpark
then helping the sanitation team clean the park and waiting for other departments to see if they need help. If other departments don’t need help you will help in sanitation for the day. A typical evening shift would include checking to see if other departments need help, helping in sanitation, then working in the bank. If other departments are not in need of help your primary responsibility would be helping in sanitation. This position’s task will change daily and will report to the general manager. This position will require someone who is open to learning something new daily and willing to be flexible. This position requires frequent walking, standing, and moving. May involve moderate lifting (up to 25 lbs (12 kg). You will be working in the hot, humid summer sun and exposed to various weather elements. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and switch priorities. Able to work independently as well as in a team. Must have the ability to stand for an entire shift. Front Desk Agent : Adv. to fluent English. You MUST be able to converse easily in English to work in this very busy front desk position at Adventureland. Prior Front Desk experience is helpful. Advanced to fluent English. Advanced computer skills needed. Will greet guests, handle phones, reservations, checking guests in and out. Knowledge of American currency & credit card transactions. Must handle guest complaints with understanding & compassion, in a
friendly & helpful way. Must be very customer service oriented. General knowledge of hotel including amenities and being able to assist with guest needs regarding the hotel,
amusement park, campground, and surrounding area as far as local businesses, all in a courteous and friendly manner. Top priority is customer service – you must make guests feel welcome and ensure their needs are met. Attention to detail and strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are very important. Also, strong mathematical skills are needed for the payment processing and bookkeeping responsibilities. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist with if needed. Housekeeping Room Inspector : You will learn how to properly clean a room so you know how to correctly inspect rooms. Duties include strip rooms of linens and empty trash ahead of the housekeeper, open unoccupied rooms, assist housekeepers with cleaning rooms, including making beds. Pick up trash and linens from the hallways, and inspect clean rooms once the housekeeper is done. Handle guest complaints concerning housekeeping service or refer problem to management, notify maintenance of any needed repairs in guest rooms and public space, report & deliver valuables or lost & found to the Front Desk, approve rooms for occupancy and ensure room is 100% prior placing it as available, update the in-house management system with the proper status of all rooms, controls waste of any product or linen and ensures that all products are used in accordance with directions and care. Must be able to stand, sit, bend down low and crawl (to look under beds), and walk for up to 8 hours a day. Must be able to

Laundry : You will collect dirty laundry from guest rooms, swimming pool areas, and hallways, restock clean linen in hotel linen closets. Involves also collecting trash. Must be able to lift and push up to 50lbs/23kg. Load/unload laundry into washing and drying machines, fold laundry. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies & identify damaged linens and communicate with housekeeping manager. There will also be other duties assigned as needed. Requires attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. Position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, and lifting. details for clothing: Please bring khaki shorts (decent length) and black (or white) non-slip close-toed athletic type shoes. You will also need a black or brown belt.

Pool Safety Monitor : Must be first aid/CPR certified. You are responsible for ensuring guest safety in and around the pool areas at the inn. You must actively scan the assigned zones for all emergencies and maintain a safe, fun environment by enforcing posted pool rules. You will clean the pool area, empty trash, arrange lounge chairs/tables, work towel stations, serve guests. This is a very physical job. Must be able to lift or push 50lb/23kg, remove used pool towels and restock with clean new towels, maintain a safe yet fun environment within pool areas, and assure that guests follow
posted pool rules guidance. You will need to learn and retain a general knowledge of the hotel including amenities to assist guests with their needs. Pools are located inside the building but are open to the sun. Must be able to handle hot, humid weather. You will be working directly with children, teenagers, and adults in this position. No cell phones allowed while on shift. They must be kept in your work locker. Must have a great team attitude, and be a dependable, hard-working, friendly, outgoing, and very trustworthy and honest individual. Additional duties assigned as needed. Grooming: Conservative make-up may be worn by female employees only. Hairstyles must be conservative, neat and clean. All hairstyles must be one natural color. Men’s hairstyles should not extend over the top of the uniform collar or below mid ear. Women’s hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back. Men may have a fully grown in, well-maintained mustache, beard or goatee. Otherwise you must be clean shaven daily. Mustaches may protrude no lower than the lip and sideburns no lower than the earlobe. Jewelry should be
minimal and conservative: Men are not permitted to wear earring(s). For women, pierced jewelry will be allowed only in the ear and limited to no more than two per ear. Earrings may
be no more than one inch in length and diameter. Absolutely no other body piercings can be visible. Rings may be worn with no more than one per hand. Necklaces should be worn underneath the uniform top. Good hygiene must be maintained, including daily showering, use of deodorant and laundered clothes.
