You will need to make your reservation by paying the Housing Reservation Fee of $350.00 no later than MARCH 15, 2020. $200 of the reservation fee will be NON-REFUNDABLE. If a participant pays to reserve their housing, but is unable to obtain a Visa, they MUST notify Big Kahuna’s, so they can have their reservation fee refunded. In this case only, Big Kahuna's will refund the reservation fee. You will be receiving step-by-step instructions on how to reserve housing once hired.

Typical Schedule: Schedules vary and include weekends and mornings.

  • Park Schedule Open weekends Until May 13th.
  • Full Operation start week of May 13th.
  • Park reduces to weekend only Aug 30 + Labor Day.

Position Description: Position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: Lifeguards are responsible first and foremost for the well being of our guests. Prevention is the key to safety. Lifeguards provide a safe environment by enforcing and abiding by all water park and safety rules to avoid accidents.
Being a good swimmer. Being attentive and assertive while ensuring guests use all attractions safely and correctly. Working outdoors under extreme weather conditions (rain or shine), while in the water. Contributing to park clean up and maintaining clean work areas. Be able to lift guests of all weights with the assistance of a backboard. Perform physically as needed to complete rescues. Interacting with park guests and providing information, in addition to other duties assigned by your supervisor. Due to uncontrollable circumstances there may be times where 32 hours per week cannot be earned by the employee. For example, bad weather resulting in the park
closing for the day or sick days. Employees/students must fulfill their schedule and job requirements with Big Kahuna’s at all times to receive their 32 average hours a week. Students may independently obtain a second job while working at Big Kahuna’s, provided that under no circumstance the second job will interfere with your assigned work schedule at Big Kahuna’s, therefore, you will need to work your 2nd job schedule around your Big Kahuna’s schedule.*Your manager will NOT be able to change your Big Kahuna’s schedule to meet your 2nd job arrangements** Participants must fulfill their schedule and job requirements with Big Kahuna’s at all times.

  • Do NOT apply for this position if you are unable to swim or if you are allergic to the sun or pool chemicals.

Supplies Cost: 28.00

Supplies Required: $28 deposit that will be refunded if uniform is returned no later than 5 days after last day of work). Lifeguards are required to independently purchase athletic sandals (flip flops are not allowed) and POLARIZED Sunglasses that meet uniform requirement.

Additional Information: 50% meal discount off selected items at park.

Pay Notes: Your first 3 days at the employer will be unpaid and will be spent completing paperwork and in the Lifeguard Certification class. The day of your first paycheck will be 2 or 3 weeks from you start day, based on the pay period. Please ensure you bring enough money with you to cover expenses, such as housing, food, transportation.
