Rent covers all expenses except food and entertainment. Any rent owed, at the end of your program will be charged to you and failure to pay will result in a no rehire status with Busch Gardens.
Housing is dormitory style with four people and four beds per room. There are no mixed gender rooms so couples CANNOT live together. Each room has bathroom, TV, hot water, air conditioning, refrigerator, and free local calls. For safety there is IHV security and IHV staff to assist students at most times of the day and evening. 1 KM to large grocery stores. City transit available next to housing. Bank is 5 KM and entertainment is available throughout city. A main kitchen facility is provided, as well as laundry at no cost. Rooms are fully furnished. It is recommended to bring a personal towel, but not required. Wi-Fi internet available everywhere on housing property as well as seven internet PCs. Seasonal swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, and organized activities available at the housing complex.

Along with fun jobs, housing and a great work atmosphere, International Participants can also take part in the Busch Gardens Educational program for employees. Participants are offered the opportunity to attend seminars and classes on Guest Services and Hospitality Management. Participants who take part in these programs will be receive Certificates of Completion for these programs.

Busch Gardens F&B Ambassador
Our Culinary Operations Department offers a variety of positions in our restaurants, snack shops, and kiosk operations in Busch Gardens and in Water Country USA. Participants may be placed in one location, or may be crossed trained to work in several locations. This position will work in Busch Gardens, but you may also be asked to work in Food & Beverage Locations in Water Country USA.
Food & Beverage Ambassadors have duties including preparing and serving food items, cashiering and cleaning. We maintain an exceptional standard of quality and service for our guests.
Shallow Water Lifeguard
Water Country USA offers over 20 different attractions, flumes and slides. Shallow Water Guards are responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our rides for the enjoyment of our guests. These employees can work in pools up to 4 feet deep and are also responsible for the cleanliness of their attraction and work area.
All participants hired for Shallow Water Lifeguard must pass the Lifeguard Certification course. If a student cannot pass certification, or does not meet all requirements, the employer will relocate the student to another position in the park based on park needs.
Requirements of the Lifeguard Certification Training Course include the following:
- SWIM: MUST SWIM 100 YARDS CONTINOUSLY DEMONSTRATING BREATH CONTROL AND RYTHMIC BREATHING. CANDIDATES MAY SWIM THE FRONT CRAWL OR BREASTSTROKE OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH BUT SWIMMING ON THE BACK OR ON THE SIDE IS NOT ALLOWED.
- BRICK: STARTING IN THE WATER SWIM 20 YARDS USING FRONT CRAWL OR BREAST STROKE. THE FACE MAY BE IN OR OUT OF THE WATER. SWIM DOWN TO A DEPTH OF 4 – 5 FT TO RETRIEVE A 10 POUND BRICK. RETURN TO THE SURFACE AND WALK OR SWIM BACK TO THE STARTING POINT WITH BOTH HANDS HOLDING THE BRICK AT THE SURFACE OF THE WATER. EXIT THE WATER WITHOUT USING STEPS OR A LADDER. EXIT THE POOL WITHIN 50 SECONDS.
- TREAD: TREAD WATER FOR 2 MINUTES USING ONLY THE LEGS. CANDIDATES SHOULD PLACE THEIR HANDS UNDER THEIR ARM PITS.
- SCAN: IDENTIFY 80% OF OBJECTS IN POOL (8 out of 10 objects)
