Busser  ($3.50/hr + tips)

English Level: Advanced

Position Description: Because of the business volume, bussers may be used at Hard Rock Cafe. They are directly responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant, which allows other departments to focus on the guests.

Note: Bussers may also perform as Barbacks. -A Barback is a Bartender’s assistant. Barback responsibilities are as follows (but not limited to) stocking the bar with liquor, ice, glassware, beer and garnishes. Barbacks are responsible for supporting the bartender. Dishwashing and bussing tables are also included.

ARRIVAL/START DATES: Participants will attend Orientation on their first day of work. Orientations are held on the following Tuesdays, so your first day of work will be on one of these dates: May- 5/21 You should plan to report for your first day of Orientation at 8:00am to complete paperwork. Participants who arrive in Myrtle Beach, SC after Monday of each week will need to wait until the following Tuesday to begin their orientation. Please plan your travel accordingly. You should plan to arrive in Myrtle Beach, SC 1-2 days before your scheduled start date, so that you can move into housing and report to your employer to let them know you have arrived. They will then ensure you are signed up for the Tuesday
Morning Orienation session.

SCHEDULES:
Schedules will vary and is based on business needs- weekends and holidays are required. Some morning shifts will begin as early as 6:00am. Some evening shifts may work as late as 2:00am during busy time periods. Friends traveling together cannot be guaranteed the same day off or the same scheduled shift. Please be prepared for this

GROOMING AND APPEARANCE GUIDELINES: 

Uniform shirt must be kept clean and neat.
Jeans/pants must not be faded torn or have designs on them.

  • If hair is longer than shoulder length employee must tie it back.
  • Facial hair is acceptable but employee look well groomed at all times.
  • Employees are expected to maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Tattoos and body-piercings are acceptable if they are in good taste and do not violate sanitation and health policies.

Required Duties: 

  • Basic function of the Busser include:
  • Clearing dirty tables
  • Resetting tables
  • Sweeping the floor
  • Emptying trash cans
  • Stocking ice/products
  • Maintaining a clean and organized back dock area
  • Pre-bussing tables
  • Assisting and communicating with hosts, servers and other bussers

Skills Required: The participant to apply for a position at the Hard Rock Cafe Myrtle Beach must have Advanced English skills great customer service positive attitude and committed to providing a positive experience to Hard Rock Cafe guests.

Host ($9.00/hr)

English Level: Advanced

Typical Schedule: Schedule will vary and is based on business needs- weekends and holidays are required. Employees may work a variety of morning, afternoon and evening shifts. It may not be possible to assign an employee to a set shift

Additional Hours Details: Hours vary. Overtime may be available during certain periods of the season. Over the course of your program you will work an average of 32 hours per week. Some weeks may be less, some weeks may be more

Position Description: The Host is the initial contact with the guests. Therefore, it is essential to start guests off with a positive experience at the front door. A Host is anyone who greets, seats and pages guests. In addition, you will be assuming the role of tour guide, communicator, entertainer, memorabilia curator and musician (at heart).

  • Performing duties which require bending & reaching
  • Standing for up to 8+ hours.
  • Recycling products where possible.
  • Remaining calm in a hectic fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Demonstrating a high level of organization attention-to-detail.
  • Welcoming and thanking guests.
  • Answering questions.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized waiting area,
  • Answering the phone.
  • Directing guests to areas & restrooms.
  • Providing security for co-workers, guests and celebrities.
  • Assisting servers, bussers and managers.
  • Performing opening, closing & side duties – cleaning glass, polishing brass, sweeping & vacuuming the floor, wiping menus, restroom maintenance, etc.
  • Assuring the complete satisfaction of each and every guest.
  • Creating memorable experiences.
  • Entertaining guests to create “Raving Fans”.

Line Cook ( $10.00/hr)

Position Description: Your responsibilities are key to the Cafe’s success. At Hard Rock, you will be considered an all-around culinary employee and will learn the following positions: – Dishwasher – Prep Cook – Line Cook – Receiver

Required Duties: The Line Cook is part of the Heart of the House team (Dishwasher/Line Cook/Prep Cook). You must be flexible and may be asked to work other Heart of the House positions based on your abilities, business needs or at Hard Rock Café management discretion.

  • Basic functions in the Heart-of-the-House include:
  • Receiving and ordering product Making prep recipes and menu products to spec
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, line, dish room and back dock
  • Practicing safety and sanitation standards
  • Communicating professionally with co-workers and
  • Front-of-the-House staff
  • Cleaning dishes and operating a dish machine
  • Stocking products
  • Recycling products

Server (4.95/hr + tips)

English Level: Fluent

Typical Schedule: Schedule will vary and is based on business needs-weekends and holidays are required.

Additional Hours Details: Hours vary. Overtime may be available during certain periods of the season.

Position Description: Server is responsible for taking the guests through the key phase of their Hard Rock experience. As a Hard Rock Cafe server, you will be assuming the role of tour guide, communicator, decision-maker, entertainer, memorabilia curator and musician (at heart).

Basic functions of the Server/Expo include:

  • Taking guests’ orders
  • Running food
  • Handling cash & other forms of payment
  • Making proficient sales transactions – using a point-of-sale system
  • Properly checks I.D.s – for guests who appear to be under 30 years old
  • Demonstrating responsible alcohol service
  • Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge
  • Suggestive selling – using proven techniques
  • Answering questions – accurately and politely
  • Properly reading items printed on order tickets
  • Assembling orders – double checking product quality and specs
  • Satisfying any/all needs of the guests – regularly double checking back with guests throughout their experience
  • Maintaining a clean & organized station – including pre-bussing & table maintenance • Properly labeling, dating, covering and refrigerating prepped items for the expo line • Performing opening, closing & side duties – setting up/breaking down station, expo line, refilling condiments, cleaning ashtrays, etc
  • Demonstrating knowledge of all table/station numbers
  • Directing guests to areas & restrooms
  • Effectively communicating with co-workers (kitchen)
  • Creating memorable experiences
  • Entertaining guests to create “Raving Fans”

ARRIVAL AND START DATE INFORMATION

Participants will attend a Paper Work Processing Orientation on their first day at the Cafe. You should plan to report for your first day of Paperwork Processing at 9:00 am to complete paperwork You should plan to arrive in Boston 1-2 days before your scheduled start date, so that you can move into housing and report to your employer to let them know you have arrived.

SCHEDULES: Schedules will vary and is based on business needs- weekends and holidays are required. Some morning shifts will begin as early as 6:00am. Some evening shifts may work as late as 2:00am during busy time periods. Friends traveling together cannot be guaranteed the same day off or the same scheduled shift. Please be prepared for this.

All department uniform jeans/pants must not be faded torn or have designs .on them.

  • If hair is longer than shoulder length employee must tie it back.
  • Facial hair is acceptable but employee should “have a plan” and look well groomed at all times.
  • Employees are expected to maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Tattoos and body-piercings are acceptable if they are in good taste and do not violate sanitation and health policies.

Required Duties: 

  • Taking guest food and beverage orders
  • Answering guest questions about menu items
  • Delivering orders to guests
  • Resolving guest concerns
  • Processing cash and credit card payments
  • Fulfilling guest requests
  • Maintaining a positive attitude and committed to providing a positive experience to Hard Rock Cafe guest.

Skills Required: Job Requirements include: • Must be at least 19 years old • Performing duties which require bending & reaching • Lifting & transporting up to 25-pound dining chairs, booster seats, high chairs, and food/drink orders
