Housing
105/week/person ($15/day approximately for housing and meals.) *Rates are subject to change*

Dormitory housing is provided to employees. Sheets and towels are provided by your employer. All students must share a room with a roommate. Three meals per day are provided in the employee lounge.

Rooms are a minimum of double occupancy and may accommodate up to four people total. No single rooms are available. Rooms come with limited storage space so employees are advised to keep their personal effects to a minimum. Rooms are inspected on a regular basis for cleanliness and possible health/safety violations. Quiet hours are observed strictly from 11:00pm-7:30am daily (hours subject to variation).

All rooms are heated but do not come with air conditioning. Rooms are equipped with TV but not equipped with phones. Complimentary laundry facilities are available in each building, including laundry soap. Each building also has a central recreation room with television, meeting space, pool tables, foose ball, movie room, book library, scheduled activities, including trips to Fairbanks and employee tour opportunities.

A weekly shuttle is offered to Fairbanks beginning in June. A small grocery store, bank and gas station is located near employee housing. Transportation No charge transportation is available between employee housing & work facility. Shuttle from employee housing to Denali is provided daily, free of charge. It departs every hour on the hour from employee housing to the Lodge.

Dishwasher

Job Duties:

  • Performs a variety of entry-level dishwashing tasks.
  • Routinely cleans, washes and stores food and beverage service items, equipment, and the kitchen area.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees and management.
  • Ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines, to maintain an attention to detail, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Some experience in positions involving dishwashing is normally preferred for this job.
  • Must have a valid Alaska Food Handlers card.

Houseperson

Job Duties:

  • Performs a variety of entry-level dishwashing tasks.
  • Routinely cleans guest and public areas. Operates cleaning equipment.
  • Makes supplies deliveries and maintains supply closets. Identifies maintenance issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees and management.
  • Ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines, to maintain an attention to detail, while working in a team or group environment.

Room Attendant

Requirements:

  • Responsible for preparing and cleaning guest rooms which includes making beds dusting guest rooms cleaning bathrooms replenishing bath supplies vacuuming rooms and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for transporting clean and dirty linen to/from hotel laundry room and maintaining cleanliness and organization of linen closets.
  • Assists with processing large amounts of hotel linens by sorting washing drying and folding using various large machines.
  • Assist with inventory of linen and distribution and inventory of employee uniforms.
  • Assist with any guest service needs as requested. Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees and management.
  • Ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines, to maintain an attention to detail, while working in a team or group environment.

Required skills:

  • Participants must have Conversational English skills and a work availability of 4 months. Ability to work well both in a team atmosphere and also independently. Able to stand on feet for 8 hour shifts. Able to lift at least 50 pounds. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and appropriately. The host company runs a post-offer background check and you must successfully complete this in order to stay employed.

Grooming:

  • High standards of grooming and personal hygiene should be observed at all times while at work and on hotel property. Women are allowed one earring in each ear with no more than a one inch dangle. Men are not allowed to wear earrings. Men’s hair must be above the collar and facial hair in the form of a trim beard or mustache is only acceptable if approved at time of hire. Only conservative hair colors and styles are permitted. No watches rings or excessive jewelry will be permitted when working in the dining room.
