$110/week/person (*Rates are subject to change)

◾In each room there are 3 to 4 twin sized beds with mattresses and a shelf and locker above to store your items. Linens and a pillow are provided by Hiawatha. There is a fridge and microwave in the room.
◾Each student will get their own bed.
◾If you are a couple and want to live together, you MUST have another person that will agree to live with you before arrival. There must be at least three people living in the room. There is no guarantee that you will be able to room together during your time on program however Hiawatha will do their best to accommodate your request.
◾You may REQUEST to live with your friends upon arrival, however it is not guaranteed.
◾There is NO alcohol allowed on property.
◾Visitors will have to remain in the common area during visit and will not be allowed in the rooms.

Cashier/Server

  • The F&B area can be devided into the kitchen and service department. The kitchen is responsible for creating food, whereas the service is responsible for serving their customers.
  • Provide friendly customer service to resort guest, maintaining the standards of performance, service, hospitality, cleanliness, and safety in the pool/waterpark, responsible for communicating with guest on resort amenities and procedural standard
  • It is important to make sure that the food areas are clean for our guests. It will be required every shift to help clean up the the food area, this includes-sweeping, picking up garbage, changing out the trash bags, making sure the tables are arranged nicely, cleaning tables, and any other tasks necessary.

CASHIER:

Cashiers ensure an accurate accounting of all transactions collections and disbursements. You receive cash at beginning of work shift and count money in drawer to verify accuracy and balance your till at the end of your shift. Cashiers itemize and ring food and beverage items into register collect payment from all food service guests and make accurate change for the transaction assuring that everyone pays correct price for all food. Other responsibilities may include greeting guests and taking and serving food and beverage orders.

COUNTER PERSON:

Counter persons perform a variety of duties relating to cafeteria style service including greeting and serving guests cold food preparation stocking counters condiments and food items and maintaining a clean working area at all times. You are also responsible for cleaning tables in the dining area as customers come and go.


  • This is a physical job. You must be able to do the following:
  • The ability to stand for long hours at a time
  • The ability to kneel, crouch, and bend.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to work in unpredictible weather: rain, wind, cooler and hot temperatures.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • Various other hotel job duties as assigned.
  • If an employee would like more hours or is needed in other departments there may be hours available in other departments.
  • Students should be flexible enough to work in as many of the positions as possible.

You may be working in other various positions throughout the resort including retail associate, cabanas and working in the attractions department.

Required Duties:

Employees take customer’s orders, get their food (warm up hot dogs, scoop ice cream, etc), ring them up at the cash register, and give them their change. There may be some light cleaning duties. There is some cooking and food preparation. Employees must be friendly and cooperative with customers.


Skills Required:

Skills that are important for this job include good communication skills (English with a smile) be able to handle money and make change be able to work well with customers and employees (good cooperation) and honesty.


Supplies Required:

Employees must wear work shirt and pants, hat optional. Other clothing is their responsibility. Employees buy uniform from employer. Uniform consists of shirt, pants, or shorts purchased from employer. Cost can be from $40-$80 depending on items.


Additional Information:

Employees must practice good personal hygiene (be clean and look neat). This is especially important in food service so clean fingers and nails are essential as is the use of deodorant.
