Position Description:

• They perform all the tasks in the kitchen other than cooking and serving
• They are the ones responsible for the hygiene of the kitchen and they have to clean so the kitchen remains clean before the surprise inspections
• They prep the kitchen before the chefs arrive to cook
• They have to remove the required ingredients from the pantry and have to clean and cut the vegetables in advance
• They have to assist the chefs if they require help
• They have to fill up the positions of the absent staff and complete their duties
• They have to report to the kitchen manager or the head chef
• They have to train any new members of the kitchen staff regarding the work culture of the kitchen
• They have to clean all the equipment that is used in the kitchen
• They should not divulge any information about the kitchen to any outsiders
• Kitchen Help will assist in the kitchen and dinning area, mainly as a dishwasher, busser and any other help the kitchen may need

This is a physical job. You must be able to do the following:

• The ability to stand for long hours at a time
• The ability to kneel, crouch, and bend.
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• The ability to work in unpredictable weather: rain, wind, cooler and hot temperatures.
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.

◾Please understand that cleaning chemicals are required to use in this department. Cleaning chemicals are used specifically to kill bacteria on surfaces on the counters. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be available when using or being around these chemicals. All chemicals must be used properly, so it does not cause any harm to you, your co-workers and guests.

◾Please understand that there is a need to use these safe cleaning chemicals to maintain a clean environment for you and the guests. Cleaning chemicals are used to kill harmful bacteria.

Required Duties:

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
  
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
  •Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
  
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
  
• Set up workstations before meal prep begins
  
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
  
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary
  
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
  
• Remove garbage regularly
  
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor

Applicants must be trustworthy, friendly, and have a positive attitude! Employees have direct contact with the public and must have good people skills and be able to communicate in a fast-paced work environment. Teamwork and professionalism are important
