Housing is available for over 100 employees. Housing is a 12x10 dry cabin or an 8x10 connex room with two twin beds, two windows, lights, and a mini-refrigerator. Rooms are shared with one other person, and storage is limited. The Lodge has a staff commons building that accommodates male and female bathrooms with showers, a free laundry facility, kitchen area and sitting room with television. The kitchen has multiple stoves and full refrigerators and storage for cooking utensils and dry-goods.

Employees must provide their own cooking utensils. Employees are eligible for a 30% discount for food at the Resurrection Roadhouse. The employee housing area offers complimentary laundry and basic WiFi. The Lodge provides bedding and towels. Shuttles to town are offered on a space available basis from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM (top of every hour). The city of Seward offers a limited shuttle in town during the day and a bus line service to Anchorage during the season.

The Seward Windsong Lodge offers an unforgettable summer experience. We are open from May through September and have a staff of 120+ employees (about one third of those are J1 students). Located in an idyllic town between the sea and the mountains, there are numerous opportunities for adventure: hiking, kayaking, berry picking, whale watching, and so much more. Though it’s the “Land of the Midnight Sun”, there is an active nightlife with live music and DJ dance parties at multiple venues around town.


Position Description

Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Seward Windsong Lodge.

As a Room Attendant, you will provide comfort to our guests by ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are clean and inviting.

  • Required Duties : Clean all rooms and other areas assigned to you, Respond quickly to guest requests with accommodations that may enhance their experiences with the lodge Ensure privacy and confidentiality for lodge guests, Address questions and concerns and report identified maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Skills Required : Student must be able to follow instructions in English, Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service, Positive and willing to participate on a team and work with a winning attitude Flexible and dependable. Ability to bend, lift, climb stairs, and lift up to 35 pounds, Previous housekeeping experience will be viewed advantageously.
  • Drug Screening : All employees are subject to policies and procedures set forth by Seward Windsong Lodge. Some positions may be required to submit to pre-employment and random drug testing, and/or pre-employment review of records. All participants will be required to sign a drug test consent form; drug test may be performed if an incident/accident occurs while the participant is employed.
  • Grooming : Please, no visible piercing studs or rings except for ears; hair should be pulled back from the face; facial hair must be kept trimmed and neat.

You will be paid every other Tuesday.

Employees who successfully complete their season as indicated in their hiring agreement are eligible for an end of season bonus.

Bonus is calculated as 5% of all regular earnings and 10% for consecutive returning employees. Bonus is paid out separately after the season has ended.
