Grocery Store Clerk

English Level: Advanced

Position Description: Although you will be hired as an overall Grocery Store Clerk, You will be placed in one of the following positions upon arrival to Shaw’s: Service Clerk/Cashier, Deli Clerk ,Bakery Clerk, Produce Clerk, Seafood Clerk, Meat Clerk, or Grocery Clerk. You may also be asked to work in any of these departments as needed. ***Please note that you will be working in air conditioned or refrigerated environments, which can be cold. Please be prepared to wear extra layers of clothing if you get cold easily.

Required Duties: Exact duties will be determined by the position you are placed in upon arrival. All positions will require:

• Working with the American public and speaking English on a regular basis.
• Standing on your feet for long periods of time.
• Working in a fast paced environment.
• Providing outstanding customer service.
• Cleaning duties
• Other duties as assigned by your Manager

Skills Required: 

• Ability to communicate in English; understand guests service needs
• Focused attention on details
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

Supplies Required: A uniform shirt will be provided by the employer. Employees must provide their own black pants. No Short, jeans, exercise pants or yoga pants permitted. Employees must provide their own athletic shoes. Black shoes required
