- Training Starting Wage: $10/hr, Fully Trained Wage up to $15/hr
Job Description
- Following precise Ice Cream recipes to produce consistent tasting Ice Cream, Candidate will meet daily production goals in order to sustain adequate inventory levels for West’s and it’s wholesale customers. Cleanliness is extremely important during production and the Candidate must be able to follow strict cleaning guidelines for production machines, tools, utensils and production room.

Job Description
At West’s Hayward Dairy, all our premium ice cream is hand made on premise in small batches. As an employee of West’s Hayward Dairy, you have a great deal of responsibility ensuring each customer is treated with respect and enjoys their experience at West’s Hayward Dairy. You, the Employee, are responsible for greeting the customer as they enter the establishment and/or are next at the counter to place their order. You will take the customer’s order and then prepare the items as ordered. Typical items ordered are hand made waffle cones with a scoop of ice cream, shakes and malts, as well as ice cream based coffee drinks. Merchandise such as T-Shirts, hats and coffee mugs are also common. After all items are prepared to order, you will then ring up the customer’s order on the POS system, wish them a great day with a smile and go on to the next customer in line.
Position Details
- Candidate ideally is available to work May through October
- Work shifts will range from 4 to 8 hours/day
- Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week
- Must be able to work Saturday or Sunday of every week
- Must be able to Prep & Clean Food Preparation Area
- Must be physically capable of scooping ice cream as ordered
- Must be able to follow food preparation guide lines
- Must be comfortable lifting and moving objects weighing up to 20lbs
- Must be able to use a POS register and be competent collecting cash and providing accurate change if required
