Park is open on weekends only in March, part of April, and May. April will have daily operation for 9 days for Spring Break. Shifts will primarily Friday through Sunday until end of May. Some hours may be available during weekdays.
Expect 3-4 days of work per week increasing to 4-5 days of work at the end of May. In
June, hours will increase as we transition to daily operation. Participants will work
an average of 32 hours per week.
Job description
Food Service Associate
Food & Beverage Associates’ general job duties include serving food and beverages to guests.
- This position requires speaking English on a regular basis to take orders, answer questions about menu items, and have general conversations with guests about the park.
- This position also involves food preparation, some cooking, general cleaning, use of
register/point of sale, and other duties as assigned. - Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, attentive, and responsive to guest needs and requests.
- Food & Beverage Associates make guests happy by delivering amazing experiences and helping them create lifelong memories, interact with different people of all ages and backgrounds, while gaining skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Other job duties as assigned and in accordance with business needs.
Must be friendly, smile, and like to be around people. Associates may be assigned to work with a team or independently. Participants must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Seasonality and business needs dictate schedule and hours worked. Scheduled hours may be changed when operations are impacted by weather. Participants may be scheduled while the park is not open and assigned in different locations or roles outside of their usual assignment. This may include general cleanliness tasks, or event preparation.
Kings Dominion will train Associates on position expectations and standards.
Participants may be assigned throughout several indoor and outdoor Food and Beverage
restaurants, snack stands, or carts.
This role does not accept tips.
Participants will use cleaning chemicals in this position.
Participants may handle pork products and alcohol in this position.

Ride Operator
Ride Operators are responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient operation of rides, while
maintaining focus on the ride area and guests.
General duties include verifying riders are properly seated and safety restraints are secure
before every ride cycle, operating ride control systems which may vary in terms of complexity, and memorizing and delivering scripted safety announcements over a microphone.
Participants may also perform other job duties as assigned and in accordance with business needs.
Associates must be able to pass an International Ride Operator Certification (iROC). All
training is paid and conducted on property during training period. This position will involve a high level of guest contact, therefore candidates must have strong English/communication and feel comfortable speaking in English on a regular basis, as well as possess excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work alone or as part of a team. Must be able to take direction from
supervisors and managers. Participants must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Seasonality and business needs dictate schedule and hours worked.
May require outdoor work in all weather conditions and have exposure to direct sunlight and heat for long periods of time.
Kings Dominion will train Ride Operators on position expectations and standards.
Participants may use cleaning chemicals in this position.
