Spend your summer living and working inside Yellowstone National Park 

The first national park in the world. Xanterra operates the historic lodges, restaurants, and hospitality services throughout the park and hires hundreds of international students each summer to support guest operations.  Participants will join the Hospitality Crew, helping operate the park’s lodges and dining locations while gaining valuable hospitality experience in one of the most unique work environments in the United States. Students live together in employee villages inside the park and spend their free time hiking, exploring waterfalls and geysers, spotting wildlife like bison and elk, and participating in recreation trips organized for international employees. 

This is a truly immersive cultural exchange experience where participants meet coworkers from around the world while living in one of the most beautiful natural environments in North America. 

Hospitality Crew

Job Description:

Hospitality Crew members ensure guest satisfaction at one of our villages in Yellowstone NP. Assignments are determined by management based on operational needs and participant skills. Participants may be placed at any of the park villages or role depending on staffing needs.

• Room Attendant: cleaning hotel rooms/cabins to get them ready for the next guest. This will involve changing dirty sheets, making the bed, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash cans, mopping, and any other tasks necessary to make sure rooms are clean.
• Kitchen Crew: working in the kitchen of our dining rooms, employee dining rooms, cafeterias, or quick
• Service restaurants. Kitchen Crew workers have a lot of different roles and duties within the kitchen, and your manager might assign you a specific station within the kitchen. In general though, kitchen crew involves washing dishes, cleaning, and preparing food. Some specific roles might include dishwasher, pantry, cashier, or cafeteria server.

Expect to work in housekeeping or kitchen crew. However, participants with high-level English skills and prior experience may be considered for Food Server Assistant or Retail roles.

Positions require standing and walking for long periods of time and pulling/lifting/carrying heavy items. Other duties as assigned by management due to business need.

Xanterra will train staff on position expectations and standards.

• Participants will be assigned a specific job and village based on business need. Participants should be flexible and willing to accept all duties and locations in Yellowstone.
• Participants will use cleaning chemicals in this position.
• Participants may handle pork products in this position (Kitchen Crew).
  English skills required for this position: GREAT to EXCELLENT.

Uniform : Xanterra provides pants, shirts and other accessories for your uniform. These must be
returned in good condition at the end of your program.

Participants should prepare their own UNIFORM SHOE – you will need black, leather or vinyl shoes with non-slip bottoms to protect yourself from slipping. These shoes are required for work in the kitchen. Please check the uniform shoes requirements in the information folder.
