Job Description: 

The employer is looking for a team player with an outstanding personality and a desire to succeed! Participants should enjoy working with a fun team in a fast paced environment.

Participants will have the chance to meet people from all over the world while spending their day in one of the most decadent chocolate shops in the Black Hills. The chocolate has been featured in Food Network magazine.

Participant responsibilities will include:
– Greet customers in the store with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
– Put together customer orders for chocolates and various candies.
– Take payments. Participants should understand American currency and know how to give
change, operate a cash register, and handle credit card transactions.
– Assist in the kitchen. Training will be provided.

Participants may also be required to assist with cleaning and may come into contact with
cleaning chemicals.

Participants in this role should have excellent English.

Participants will share tip jar tips equally with co-workers at the end of each shift. Tips are based on customer discretion. Last year, employees who performed to the expectations of this position earned $1.50-$2.00
per hour in tips above the hourly wage of $11.50. Tips can vary from day to day based on business volume and individual performance.

Participants in this role will be working at the Turtle 11 or Turtle 12 location.

– The employer also hosts sales and performance contests throughout the summer.
– Participants are allowed to get a 2nd job and the employer may be able to help them find a 2nd job by connecting them to other local businesses. However, participants must understand that their first job is the first priority (for example, for scheduling purposes).
– The employer provides participants the opportunity to interact with the public on the job. They also encourage them to interact with the American staff on their time off, which allows them to experience what their coworkers do for fun while not working. They also have company BBQ’s where
they can interact with all the employees working there each summer. They also set up excursions to visit local attractions.
– The employer will assist participants in applying for social security at no cost.
