JOB DESCRIPTIONS: HOTEL HERESHEY – HOUSEKEEPER
The Housekeeper ensures that high levels of cleanliness are maintained at The Hotel Hershey and The Villas at the Hotel Hershey. Completing daily room assignments within an eight-hour shift. Provides exceptional customer service to our guests making them feel welcome while staying with us.

JOB DUTIES:
– Responsible for cleaning all guest rooms and areas (including but not limited to: porches, vestibules, great rooms,living areas, etc) while maintaining all items in good repair at The Hotel Hershey and The Villas at the Hotel Hershey.
– Cleaning assigned rooms/areas, replenishing linens and supplies.
– Reporting any damaged or missing items; reporting and turning in all lost/found items
– Calling to have light bulbs replaced.
– Stocking linen cart for the next work shift.
– Maintaining upkeep of linen closets.
– Reporting unsafe conditions or acts to a direct supervisor; making up cots and cribs.
– Returning room service items to proper location; assisting with the training of new Guest Room Attendants.
– Other job duties as assigned and in accordance with business needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
– Professional guest service attitude, well-groomed, professional appearance, and self-confidence.
– Self-motivated and capable of working alone.
– Ability to clean 14 or more credits within a specified period.
– Ability to understand and communicate instructions, both written and verbal.
– Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment such as a vacuum cleaner.
– Must have the visual ability to meet our very high cleaning standards.
– Ability to safely use chemicals in and around the workplace meeting OSHA standards.

JOB DEMANDS:
– Normal working hours are 8AM-4:30PM, 8:30AM-5PM or 9AM-5:30PM; Monday thru Sunday; working weekends and holidays are required.
– Proper footwear to be provided by employee.
– Considerable walking and pushing/ pulling of linen carts is required.
– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kilograms).
– Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, handling, stooping, reaching, lifting and repetitive motions.
– While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Constantly (67±100% of time): Stand, Walk, Reach forward, and Balance; Frequently (34±66% of time): Lift (0-9.1 kilograms), Push (0 – 4.5 kilograms), Pull (0-4.5 kilograms), Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, Handle Objects, Grasp and Operate controls; Occasionally (1±33%): Lift (9.5±22.7 kilograms, Carry (5±22.7 kilograms), Push (5±9.1 kilograms), Pull (5±9.1 kilograms), Climb Stairs, Reach Overhead, and Crawl
– This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.

– Participants receive a $75.00 per week meal allowance (excluding final working paycheck)
– Participants are eligible to earn a $250 end-of-season bonus. To qualify, participants must work through their assigned DS-2019 end date, have satisfactory job
performance and attendance record, and have paid housing fees in full.
– HE&R will set up Social Security appointments after participant arrives. These may be on-site or at the local Social Security Administration office. HE&R will provide transportation to the scheduled appointment.
