- Participants are eligible to earn a $250 end-of-season bonus. To qualify, participants must work through their assigned DS-2019 end date, have satisfactory job performance and attendance record, and have paid housing fees in full.
- HE&R will set up Social Security appointments after participant arrives. These may be on-site or at the local Social Security Administration office. HE&R will provide transportation to the scheduled appointment.
Housing InformationParticipants will be required to move to alternate, hotel housing with different amenities in early August. Hotel housing will not have cooking facilities, however rooms are equipped with mini refrigerators and have access to microwaves. Details will be communicated in advance to allow time to pack and clean dorm rooms.
Rent costs will remain constant throughout the program.
The last housing move-in date for Summer 2027 is June 28.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS: HERSHEY LODGE – HERSHEY LODGE ±KITCHEN CLEANER/DISHWASHER
This job is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all food service areas in the Hershey Lodge.
JOB DUTIES:
– Maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of all food service areas and equipment, including cleaning of food service kitchens and storeroom and locker areas*
– Assisting food preparation whenever needed*
– Cleaning, washing and storing all eating and drinking utensils, pots, pans, and other related items*
– Cleaning all kitchen surfaces (floors, walls, ceilings, etc.); maintaining clean dishwasher and dishwashing areas*
– Cleaning out the dish machine after every meal; stocking all service areas within the kitchen with glassware, silver, china, etc.; emptying and scrubbing garbage containers when necessary*
– Keeping garbage compactor area clean and neat; cleaning hood areas and screens above cooking areas, under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor or Lead Persons. *
– Other job duties as assigned and in accordance with business needs KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
– Friendliness and well-groomed appearance a definite plus.
– Must be able to do physical work, and able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
JOB DEMANDS:
– Second shift start time varies between 4 PM, 5PM, and 6 PM, depending on operational needs.
– Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
– Proper footwear must be provided by employee.
– Work area subject to uncomfortable heat.
– This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
