LIFEGUARD

The Lifeguard is responsible for continuously monitoring assigned pools, water attractions, slides, and surrounding areas to protect guest safety and maintain a secure aquatic environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
– This position anticipates and recognizes potentially unsafe conditions, swimmer distress, hazardous behaviors, and other safety concerns and takes immediate preventive or corrective action.
– Lifeguards consistently and professionally enforce aquatic facility rules, attraction requirements, and safety procedures, including applicable height, ability, and participation requirements.
– In the event of an emergency, the Lifeguard must respond immediately and perform water rescues, CPR, First Aid, AED use, and other lifesaving techniques in accordance with certification standards and training.
– Lifeguards are expected to maintain constant surveillance, remain attentive and rescue-ready throughout assigned rotations, and provide guests with clear and accurate information regarding attraction rules, water safety, facility operations, and resort services.
– Responsibilities also include inspecting assigned areas, identifying and promptly reporting unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, water-quality concerns, or maintenance needs, and inspecting and maintaining rescue equipment, First Aid supplies, and other assigned safety equipment.
– Lifeguards participate in required training, rescue drills, audits, skills assessments, and ongoing in-service training and must maintain all rescue, CPR, First Aid, and emergency response skills at a test-ready level.
– Additional responsibilities include assisting with opening and closing procedures, cleaning, organization, and general upkeep of aquatic areas; following emergency action plans, evacuation procedures, severe weather protocols, and other emergency procedures; accurately and promptly completing required incident reports and safety documentation; collaborating with fellow Lifeguards, Recreation team members, Security, and resort leadership to maintain a safe and welcoming environment; and helping maintain the appearance of the water part.
– Other job duties as assigned and in accordance with business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
– Excellent swimming ability and comfort working in and around water required. Previous Lifeguard experience preferred. Host requires swim video demonstrating abilities.
– Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain all required lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED, and aquatic rescue certifications as a condition of employment.
– Specific Customer service training, job training, certification and health/safety training in a classroom setting. If you fail the certification you will be assigned to a Pool Attendant or another job based on business.
– Throughout the shift this position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling.
– Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality setting is preferred.
– Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
– Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
– Good communication and teamwork skills.
– Friendly and approachable demeanor with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
– Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
– Willingness to follow instructions and take on new challenges.
– This position is based outdoors. Participants must be comfortable working in direct sun, heat and other variable weather conditions. The host will train staff on position expectations and standards, including required certifications. Typical shift is 9am to 3pm or 3pm to 8pm, but hours may vary. Helping with opening and closing of the pool operations. Special events may cause for evening, late night operations for private parties.

Lifeguards must start with a two day orientation.

Participants will use pool and/or cleaning chemicals in this position.
English skills required for this position: EXCELLENT to FLUENT.

Uniform : Most of your uniform will be provided by Black Desert Resort. This may include key items such as shirts, pants, blazers, aprons, and any specific items required for your role. Manager will email you what you need to buy before you start your job.

Participants will need to provide some items, including but not limited to appropriate footwear, such as black closed-toe, non-slip shoes for Food and Beverage staff.”
