• Weekly rent costs range between $135 and $250 per week, depending on room type requested. Rent will be due on the 1st and 15th of every month.

• Housing locations are on the property at 24 Kelley Street and at our house in Oak Bluffs, 24 Sumner Park Road.

• Room types vary based on preference. The employer has singles, doubles, quads, 6-bed and 8-bed rooms.

• Housing requests will be taken on a first-come basis and are only guaranteed once confirmed by the hotel and based on total female/male ratios. Once the employees are confirmed in a room, Faraway Martha's Vineyard will update you with the information and associated rent costs.

Job Description

Pool Server/ Bartender

The pool server/bartender occupies one of the most integral functions in the restaurant. You are responsible for taking orders, making beverages for all guests, serving beverages, selling food, and building repeat clientele. Beyond that, you are expected to use your skill, knowledge, and personality to provide a dining experience that exceeds all expectations. You have been chosen for this position because of your experience, ability, and character. Together, we will work to provide a memorable dining experience for each of our guests. You will work at the hotel pool.

Pool/Public Area Attendant

Pool Attendants are responsible for assisting guests with their needs in the Pool area of the property. This includes answering guests’ questions, checking guests’ identification cards, providing towels and chairs to guests and keeping the pool area clean. They help the servers with the pool bar as needed operating as a Dining Room Attendant to deliver orders and return service items. Pool Attendants also keep the recreational storage area clean and organized and assist with the laundry. Participants may also be needed to assist with the public area cleaning, as well as other duties assigned by your manager.

This is a physically demanding job that requires someone who is motivated and enjoys speaking with people and working outdoors. This job is not recommended for anyone who has difficulty working in the sun and heat, or may have allergies to chemicals and cleaning supplies.

Because pool attendants interact with guests, advanced English is required.

Housekeeping Houseman

A Hotel Housekeeping Houseman is someone who is passionate about the guest experience, enjoys a fast-paced work environment and has a spectacular eye for detail. The responsibilities include maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in both guest rooms and public areas. This is an integral role within the hotel operation and impactful to the guest experience.

Housemen get rooms ready for the Housekeeping Attendants by stripping beds and making sure the housekeepers have all the supplies they need to clean the rooms.

Housekeeping Attendant

A Hotel Housekeeping Attendant is someone who is passionate about the guest experience, enjoys a fast-paced work environment and has a spectacular eye for detail. The responsibilities include maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in both guest rooms and public areas. This is an integral role within the hotel operation and impactful to the guest experience.

Front Desk

A Hotel Front Desk Agent, called the House Manager, is responsible for hosting guests throughout their stay. From a warm welcome upon arrival to an effortless departure, this role will play a critical hand in executing the seamless guest experience in a tech forward hotel environment.

Host

There is a high level of guest contact in this position, both in person and over the phone, so advanced English skills are required. A Host is responsible for welcoming customers to a food service environment and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service. Their duties include maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus and accepting phone calls. A Host’s duties primarily focus on ensuring the guests have a positive experience as soon as they enter the restaurant. Examples of Host duties and responsibilities include:

  • Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
  • Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table
  • Giving guests accurate wit times estimates and seating them in the waiting area
  • Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
  • Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff
  • Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
