Job Description

A Line Cook prepares food using recipes and menu items created by the Head Chef and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly. In this position, your primary goal will be to prepare high quality meals cooking on the line (pizza, flat top and fry). To be successful in this role, the ideal participant will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately, you will play an essential role in contributing to our customers satisfaction. Some of your key duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked.
• Preparing food including cleaning and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
• Cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks.
• Plating prepared foods based on chef’s guidance
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to the request and on time
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end if the shifts. Taking care of any leftovers
• Stocking inventory
• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations

This position primary function would be as a line cook but could also include some other duties as described below:

Dishwasher : A Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans and glasses. Their duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry.

Busser : A Busser works primarily in the dining area of a restaurant. You will move back and forth between areas attending to diners and assisting waitstaff with their duties. A Busser’s duties and responsibilities include clearing dishes from the table and taking to the dish room, cleaning the table and setting it up for the next guests, and assisting wait staff as needed.
