JOB DUTIES:

– Greet every Guest and answer Guest’s questions and provide consistent, friendly and helpful guest Service.
– Operate amusement rides.
– Closely observe ride and riders to ensure safe operation.
– Load and unload passengers in a safe manner.
– Scan “”My Boardwalk”” cards and wristbands.
– Interact with Guests in a positive and friendly, yet firm, manner.
– Monitor and respond to inappropriate guest behavior.
– Follow verbal and written directions to perform specific duties.
– Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
– Assist riders on and off rides.
– Clean and sweep ride area at the beginning, end of shift and throughout the day.
– Enforce ride policies and rules in a polite and firm manner.
– Other job duties as assigned and in accordance with business needs.

Participants must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Seasonality and business needs dictate schedule and hours worked.

Ride Operator is a safety-sensitive position. Participants are required to pass safety training. Participants who fail to pass training, or incur safety violations, may be removed from this position. Alternate job placement may be available based on business need.

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will train staff on position expectations and standards.

Participants will use cleaning chemicals in this position.
English skills required for this position: EXCELLENT.

Uniform : Uniform will be provided by The Boardwalk! Participants should provide their own comfortable shoes and belt. Facial piercings are not permitted (besides a nose ring/stud on one nostril). Jewelry and nails should be kept at a minimum. Should participants have questions, please direct them to the manager.

The Boardwalk welcomes new arrivals on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Approved arrival dates are as follows:

SPRING:
March 9, 10, 11
March 16, 17, 18
March 23, 24, 25

Check in will be on the days above beginning at 9am until 4pm. Please plan to arrive on one of the following dates (do not arrive earlier than the date you select).

Day 1– arrive at HR office, on-board by turning in your employment documents, attend welcome party hosted by coordinators (this is your DS-2019 start date).

Day 2– pick up uniform from wardrobe, go on grocery run shuttle, attend Boardwalk Essentials from 4pm to 7pm.

Day 3 – first official day of work in your assigned position. Training will begin this day.

SPRING:
Participants should be comfortable with a variable schedule based on Boardwalk operations. Hours/days may be limited in early March and late April when the Boardwalk is only open for long weekends. 7-day operations occur during spring breaks and at full start to the summer season.
