The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge an experience by Pursuit is a seasonal property, encompassing seven buildings: a main lodge, four guest lodges, employee housing, and a maintenance facility. Built from Alaska’s natural resources, and resting on 35 acres of our 640-acre site our spacious guest rooms; onsite restaurants lounge and meeting facilities provide a luxurious getaway with an unmatched view of Denali and the Alaska Range.

Resting above Talkeetna on the south side of Denali, the stunning views are endless. The historic town of Talkeetna has a year round population of approximately 800 people. We are 2 hours north of Anchorage and 2.5 hours south of Denali National Park. We also pride ourselves in being a destination spot for some of the best fishing, hiking, rafting and picturesque prospects in all of Alaska. Please be prepared for the Alaska experience. Students must be willing and ready to work at Alaska Collection for the duration of their agreed job dates. Alaska is a majestic place full of adventure, wilderness, trees, animals and more.

Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge does a lot of fun activities and recognition for all staff. Activities include guided hikes, glacier walks, zip lining, trips to the nature center, the fair, bingo, basketball, cook-outs, trips to Anchorage or Fairbanks for shopping or sightseeing. Discounts at other properties for lodging and tours. Employees receive a 30% discount at the property restaurants, and for some items in our gift shops. Employees have lounges and common areas that supply free wi-fi, games, and TV.

There is a a free shuttle into the small town and second job opportunities.

Dishwasher

As a Dishwasher, you will provide fellow co-workers with assistance in the kitchen as needed and follow all sanitary and health-related protocols.

Required Duties:

• Operate the industrial dishwasher
• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles
• Stock supplies in serving stations or storage
• Empty and clean all garbage receptacles
• Follow sanitation policies at all times
• Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as necessary, especially at peak hours
• Clean all public bathrooms in the restaurant

Housekeeping & Laundry Attendant

As a Housekeeping & Laundry Attendant, your goal is to be part of a fun and engaged team who provides good hospitality and service to our hotel guests by ensuring cleanliness in our Alaska hotel properties. As a team member, you may be assigned to work as a hotel room housekeeper and as an attendant in our hotel laundry facility. Put simply, you will wear several different hats and get experience in multiple hotel areas. You will have daily interactions with our guests and need to bring your best while following our hotel standards and operating procedures. If you are a dependable worker willing to maintain a positive attitude and a safe environment for all guests and team members

Required Duties:

• Work quickly and efficiently to strip hotel room linens, remake beds, clean bathrooms, vacuum,
  replenish supplies, and report any damages or items needing repair.
• Work in common areas to ensure things are organized, clean and tidy.
• Work in the laundry facility to load washers & dryers, fold linens, prepare housekeeping carts.
• Be a great team member who is willing to “do what it takes” to complete daily housekeeping rosters
  on schedule.
• Greet guests in the hotel as needed and answer questions in a welcoming and positive manner.

Prep Cook

Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. As the Prep Cook, you will prepare menu items for dining room service while working efficiently with standardized recipes and presentations. You will have a range of duties in order to assist team members including:

• Sanitize work areas during shift and before the next shift
• Ensure all equipment is clean
• Follow and complete prep list each day
• Use standard recipes and presentations
• Prepare prep list for following shift
