Job Description:

J-1 students will primarily assist with kitchen preparation and daily kitchen operations. Responsibilities include washing and chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, portioning food, dishwashing, restocking supplies, and keeping kitchen and work areas clean and organized.

Students may also assist with packing takeout orders, running food, preparing the dining area, and other general restaurant duties. Students with stronger conversational English and customer service skills may also be assigned front-of-house duties, including greeting guests, taking orders, and serving food. Duties will be assigned based on each student’s skills and the restaurant’s needs. Training will be provided.

Job Requirements:

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Willingness to perform kitchen prep, dishwashing, and cleaning duties as primary responsibilities
• Basic conversational English and the ability to understand work and safety instructions
• Stronger conversational English for students assigned to taking orders and serving guests
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Dependable and punctual
• Restaurant experience is preferred but not required
